The course curriculum is aligned with the Common Core Mathematics State Standards that have been adopted by the State of Michigan together with other forty states in the US for high-quality Grades 6-12 math education.

Geometry is a rigorous high school geometry course. This course covers the same (or more) topics as the Geometry Honors course offered in high schools. Geometry is a one-year course (Geometry A  in the fall semester and Geometry B in the spring semester). Geometry A covers the first-semester content of the course.

For current 8th graders or below, this course can prepare testing out high school math courses and future math contests. For current 9th graders or above, this course can enhance math learning at the grade level for state standard tests and subsequent STEM courses.

This course establishes definitions and familiarizes students with the language of geometry. Postulates and theorems are introduced, and students learn to write formal proofs. Included in the course are triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, areas of plane figures, areas and volumes of solid figures, trigonometry, similarity congruence and coordinate geometry.

This course is suitable for students who have mastered the mathematics in Algebra 1. This group often includes students who are in grade 7, 8, 9, or 10 in fall 2021.

This course covers topics in the textbook in two semesters. We will email you the textbook info when sufficient enrollment is reached.
